boyd.jpgFormer Florida Supreme Court Justice Joseph A. Boyd Jr., a graduate of the University of Miami Law School and a former Dade County Commissioner, died Friday at his Tallahassee home, according to CFN News13.

According to CFN News 13, “Boyd was elected to the Supreme Court in November 1968 and served for 18 years until his retirement in early 1987. He served as Chief Justice from mid-1984 through mid-1986.”

University of Miami law student Eric Paolino got a fiery lecture from People’s Court judge Marilyn Milian about showing respect in the courtroom. Milian, who used to teach at the University of Miami, ruled against Paolino, telling him “You, right now, are embarrassing us.” [Link via TheHurricaneOnline.com]
